Hubdub - Election in Real-Time
Hubdub is like an online bookie taking bets on anything and every thing, except it does not involve real money. Hubdub (I don’t like the name - I think it should be Hubbub) lets you create predictions and the rest of the users bet on the question with fake money - points. Okay, so what is this about election in real-time?
Here is an active question - Who will be the next President of the U.S.? People are constantly betting for and against the candidates. Not just simply yes or no, but with a certain amount of conviction based on how many points they are willing to risk - 10 points or 1000 points or even more. This gives rise to an active futures market - a predictive mechanism - for the coming presidential election:
What I REALLY don’t like about Hubdud is the fact that you start out with 1000 points and that others have on the order of millions of points. So, one active user with 100,000 points can easily move the market in one direction or the other. I am biting my tongue as I type this, as this is a “fairness” question that I generally disregard and it pains me to actually bring it up this time.

Thanks for the write up. Users that have built up more H$’s can move the market farther like in any market. However like in any market if they move it out of line it will quickly move back (and they will lose out).
